Clerk to Governors vacancy

Lionheart Academies Trust, Leicester/Leicestershire

We’re looking for a professional clerk to support a Local Governing Body within our trust based in the Birstall area, which has 5 meetings per year.

We are also looking for a clerk to support a school in difficulty which currently has meetings every other Monday, alternating afternoon and evening meetings, based near Loughborough. As the school improves this will become less often.

We would expect the successful candidate(s) to either have completed the national Clerk’s Development Programme or be willing to complete this at our expense. The trust uses a consistent approach to clerking where possible, but would be happy to consider alternative styles where this might benefit the group as a whole.

We have a very experienced Senior Trust Clerk who will offer induction and ongoing support.

We employ clerks under Service Level Agreements at a maximum of £150 per meeting. We are a growing trust and would envisage there being opportunities to develop the role as we grow. We could support a clerk in setting up their own Service Level Agreement if necessary.

We offer an environment in which governors are working effectively with senior leaders to drive forward improvements, and anticipate appointing a clerk who is professional, skilled and has a can-do approach to support governors in making a significant difference in their communities.

Feel free to get in touch if you would like to find out more. We are happy to discuss the option of appointing a separate clerk for each role.

For further information please contact Jacqui Yeomans, Senior Clerk to Governors on clerk@lionhearttrust.org.uk.

Closing date: Tuesday 6 February 2018.
