From 1 May 2013 the college was granted Academy status, giving it greater freedom to determine its curriculum, finances and to make decisions that we know will generate the best results and most rewarding educational experiences for all our students.

The change of status will not deflect us from our core and clear duty of ensuring that the unique character and ethos of Beauchamp continues to support students in realising their full potential and allowing staff to focus on quality teaching and learning as we seek to maintain as well as raise standards.

Letter to Parents

We have had an increasing number of parents and students asking us how they can gain some work experience. As a consequence we are working in partnership with the Leicestershire Education Business Company (LEBC). This local company has been organising work placements for students across Leicestershire for 20 years. Their website is www.leics-ebc.org.uk if you would like to find out more about what they do.

The cost for your son/daughter to take part will be £52. For this price LEBC will:

• Set up of the work experience placement to meet your son/daughter’s preference including workplace assessment of health, safety and welfare arrangements.
• Send you a contract agreement which sets out the job description and generic young person’s risk assessment which your son/daughter will take to interview.

HOW TO APPLY

The college will administer much of this process and provide emergency contacts during the placements.

The deadline for submitting completed applications and payment is Friday 10th May.

Application forms should be submitted to Finance with payment, which can also be made by Beauchpay. If paying by cheque, please make it payable to “Beauchamp College”

He started with us in September 2012 and had very limited English. Since then, he has made massive progress with his written and mostly his speaking skills. This has a lot to do with his visits to the LDD team who deserve a lot of praise this.

We wish him all the very best for the rest of his schooling and hope he has enjoyed his time at Beauchamp.
