The ICT department is well equipped with six computer-based teaching rooms. Every student in the class will have a computer to use. Each room has a data projector and three of the rooms have an interactive whiteboard available for use during the lessons. All of the rooms are fitted with air conditioning.
We are a very dedicated team of six and our aim is to help students to achieve the best grade possible. We offer a wide range of resources, which are available for students to access through Beauchamp Online Learning and encourage students to access these from home.
Our GCSE students follow the OCR syllabus which consists of a board set assignment and an examination that is completed in year 10, and a further board set assignment and examination that is completed in year 11.
Our BTEC students produce portfolio evidence for a number of units including presenting information, website creation, database and spreadsheets software.
In years 12 and 13 we provide both a traditional and vocational approach turnover.
ICT is becoming increasingly important in the world of work. Many employers and further education establishments will expect a certain level of ICT competency.
For enrichment we offer ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence). This is available to non-ICT students in years 10, 12 and 13 and provides a valuable qualification for those that would like to learn the software packages. Each student has the opportunity to take the computer-based examination and achieve a keystage 4 qualification.
