Statement from the Principal

We are a well-established, highly successful, ethnically diverse comprehensive college; this has greatly enriched our daily college experience. Our diversity is celebrated as we learn together and from one another through our formal and informal curriculum.

Our students and staff thrive in a mature, supportive, focussed and innovative environment where everyone is a learner. Individuals and the college have enjoyed great success through hard work, service, respect, dignity and integrity. We believe in pursuing excellence and equity for all and promote opportunities for partnerships with schools, the community and a range of external providers.

Whilst we are all incredibly proud of our current students and recent achievements, we are also proud of the heritage of our college which began over 600 years ago in Kibworth Beauchamp; then as a Grammar School in Oadby and currently an outstanding Community College. We seek to maintain and build on the standards and reputation which is extremely well established.

I hope you find our website a valuable resource and that it gives you an insight into our culture and why we are so proud of our college and our students.

Kath Kelly
Executive Principal/CEO

As new Executive Principal I am already proud to be part of such a fantastic community. Our College is steeped in traditions based both in academic excellence and pushing students to go above and beyond. I consider these both to be crucial ingredients in our recipe for success.

The high standards and aspirations of our young people coupled with inspirational teaching means students at Beauchamp College achieve exceptionally well. We are proud of the fact that Beauchamp is consistently placed among the best schools within and beyond Leicestershire. This success is based on the enthusiasm and experience of our teaching staff, the monitoring of academic and holistic development at an individual basis and of course the curiosity and commitment of the wonderful Beauchamp students.

The Beauchamp student is one that strives for excellence in all that they do. A Beauchamp student works hard, engages in their learning, and is committed to their education. They will take risks learn and evolve from them, a Beauchamp student absorbs all that is around them so that when they leave our family they are fully equipped to fulfil their dreams and aspirations.

Sally Wicken
Executive Principal

It is a privilege to oversee the day-to-day running of Beauchamp College as the Associate Principal. Beauchamp is unique, no two days are the same and no two members of our community are the same. Whilst our diversity is celebrated, we are unified through our 4Rs; Resilience, Reciprocity, Resourcefulness and Reflectiveness. These character traits sit at the core of all we do and give our students the personal tools needed to succeed as they enter their post school-world.

Beauchamp students receive an outstanding education, and so it is unsurprising they demonstrate exceptional achievement and well-roundedness. This success is based on the commitment, clear ambitions, hard work and curiosity of the wonderful Beauchamp students, encouraging parent/carer engagement, the enthusiasm and experience of all staff, and the supportive monitoring of academic and holistic development of all students. We know this to be our ‘golden triangle’.

We are a large college, but our carefully crafted nurturing pastoral framework allows us to get to know each student well, and we are committed to making sure each student feels safe, supported and happy. Students have a dedicated head of year and pastoral team as well as a form tutor and mentors made up of some of our Post-16 students with whom they can build a positive and strong relationship. Year 7 students have their own bespoke learning hub where they have the majority of their lessons, as well as their own dining and recreational facilities.

We understand that it is a family decision when choosing a secondary school which can be incredibly exciting. As you read our prospectus, you will get a real sense of what we can offer our students throughout their time with us.
