Extra-Curricular
At Beauchamp we pride ourselves on ensuring that our school is not only academically excellent, but is also able to ensure that young people are able to thrive under a pastoral system which focuses on safety, well-being and enriching pupil educational experiencesEvery young person is a valued individual and we want to create a platform for them to soar and go beyond their expectations; parents will know they can feel safe in the knowledge that their child will be nurtured to be everything they want to be.
From opportunities in music, such as the choir or rock band, to sporting opportunities such as football, rugby and netball, to opportunities in drama and dance, to opportunities to challenge ideas in debating club, to opportunities to learn about new cultures and languages such as Mandarin and Japanese.
These are just a snapshot of what students could try; we will always look to cater to student wishes and will always look to put on other clubs if the demand is there.
We believe it is essential that these opportunities also help prepare our young people for life after Beauchamp. This will be facilitated through experiences that have a strong focus on careers and work-related learning, both in and out of the college.
Stretching Our More Able
We want every student to feel challenged and encourage all students to take part in a wide-range of extra-curricular opportunities. However, we recognise that some of our brightest learners need specific opportunities to push them further. Whether this be through using our expertise of the GCSE and A-level curriculum and developing skills and knowledge closely related to this or through working closely with our STEM partners and the University of Leicester.
Moreover, our High Flyers programme places a strong emphasis on preparing learners for Oxbridge and Russell Group universities through a range of events and seminars including guest speakers from a wide range of fields including science, the arts and medicine, targeted Key Stage Three university study days including at Cambridge and Oxford universities, and working with some of our sporting partners such as Leicester City Football Club.
