Beauchamp Students Win The Voice Kids

Two Year 7 students from Beauchamp College recently triumphed on The Voice Kids.

Andrea and Shanice, the 11-year-old ‘Wonder Twins,’ were crowned winners of the show’s seventh series on Saturday evening after a tight, closely-fought final.

Based on the mainstream show with the same name, The Voice Kids is a national competition for children aged seven to 14 and aims to find the best young singer in the UK.

In their blind initial audition, the girls left the audience and the four judges – Pixie Lott, Ronan Keating, Will.I.Am and Danny Jones – spellbound with a stunning cover of 'Faith' by Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande.

The energetic and passionate performance resulted in three of judges turning around, with the girls choosing former member of the Black Eyed Peas, Will to be their mentor.

Having shone in their initial audition, Andrea and Shanice, who formerly attended Brock Hill Primary School, then took to the stage again on Saturday night, competing against other hopefuls in the showpiece final.

To kick off the final, the twins performed Lizzo’s ‘Special’ as part of ‘Team Will’s’ battle segment – where all of Will’s acts performed together. The girls were then selected as part of the final four.

Taking on the Coldplay classic ‘Sky Full of Stars,’ Andrea and Shanice managed to top their initial audition, delivering a hugely poignant performance that saw host Emma Willis announce them as overall winners.

As a reward for being crowned The Voice Kids Champion, the girls received a special family holiday to Universal Orlando Resort in Florida.

Congratulations Andrea and Shanice!
