Speedy Speakers

We're talking Careers at Beauchamp this week!

Our Year 9 students enjoyed some engaging 'career information sessions' this morning with 'speedy speakers' from the locality.  The presentation was hosted by Leicestershire Cares, a charity organization that aims to help inspire young people in their transition to the workplace by connecting them with a range of businesses / industries in a variety of sectors.

Students firstly, listened to Kirsty Nelson's experience, working for International company DNV; a registrar and classification society. The company provides legal and insurance services for several business sectors, including maritime, oil & gas, renewable energy, food & beverage, and healthcare. Kirsty is largely responsible for legal aspects.

Following this, Simon then explained that his route into Kier Construction was not university, like Kirsty, but via an apprenticeship. He now leads on projects that require strong leadership of others and making important decisions.
